The new Two Fellas Open Mic and Reading series comes to you every last Tuesday of the month, starting this month. Each month, hosted by Elnathan John, we will welcome poets, novelists, writers and other performers to share their work with our audience.
There are Open Mics all around the city, but ours has a few unique features. There will be two segments, one which will include optional critical feedback from our audience and a short conversation with Elnathan about the piece. Writers can choose to opt in or out of this added component but for those who choose this, they can expect robust conversation and respectful critique of their work.
Another feature of the Two Fellas Open Mic and Reading series is that although this will be mainly an English language series, we welcome writers and artists who work in any language as long as they can provide some kind of translation for the audience. We believe that listening to the work in the original language will add a beautiful texture to this series. If you have a piece you have written in any other language and wish to provide a translation for, you will be welcome to read both.
Every other month, we will have a special guest author who will present their book and do a reading. We hope that with your support we will be able to bring in renowned authors to share their work and sign copies of their books. So join us this month on Tuesday the 30th of November as we host our very first session. To participate please fill out the information below and we will be in touch.
